Pratibha Syntex
From 2009 to 2013, I lived and worked inside a rural Indian garment factory, Pratibha Syntex. As a young designer, I immersed myself in the world behind the label to understand the realities of fashion production and the people driving it.

Factory Waste
On arriving at the factory, I was struck by the volume of off-cut waste and set out to create an upcycled collection, transforming discarded materials into innovative, sustainable designs.

Design for Change
This upcycled collection was recognized by the Center for Sustainable Fashion in London and later featured on the cover of Fashion & Sustainability: Design for Change.

Mentorship
During my years living and working inside the factory compound, I created and ran a mentorship program that invited student designers to experience fashion from behind the label.
In 2011, I shot a documentary following the lives of two young fashion designers as they explored the resources, machinery, and human stories behind mass fashion manufacturing.
